With Camel being one of the most desired colours for fall 2010 fashion, it plays the perfect canvas to make accent colours pop. And one of the favoured places for fun accent colours is the nails. Spring/Summer 2010 saw the onslaught of yummy minty green and jade on the nails, made popular by Chanel. So popular in fact that Chanel Jade sold out more than once.

But Fall 2010 is the time for grape and violet lovers to rejoice, because polish colours like YSL‘s Belle de Nuit and Chanel’s Paradoxal are what’s hot for the upcoming season.

Rich jewel tones will be gracing the nails of all fashion forward ladies (and quite possible a few daring gents). And for those that want to have a bit more fun with their polish, try a spin on the traditional French manicure with a violet nail with a gold tip, as seen in the YSL Rock Baroque Campaign.

But if the plums and eggplants aren’t where your heart lies, simply go for anything metallic, rich jewel tones or buttery soft neutrals. Grey nails are also a hit for fall, just be sure to stay away from grey tones that can make your nails look ‘dead’. O.P.I‘s You Don’t Know Jacques or YSL’s Stormy Grey are alway’s good bets.
